Summer Hosting Tips
I’m loving having a large kitchen with plenty of room for guests to grab food and drinks from both sides of the counter. FINALLY! Our 10′ island is a dream!
We’ve hosted several get togethers in the few short months since we’ve moved back in and have found some essential hosting items that have helped parties flow smoothly.
Summer Hosting Essentials
With our hot weather, we like to set up food indoors and entertain outdoors. We have a large yard with plenty of room for water activities, tall trees for shade and a roomy porch with cozy furniture to gather on.
Food Zones
Essential summer indoor hosting ideas include zones for food and drinks. We like to set up a nice flow for cutlery and utensils, followed by the main dishes, sides, drinks then snack foods for pre-meal snacking.
Grab + Go Food
For summer hosting food ideas, finger foods are easiest for guests to easily grab plus makes a quick clean up for the host. We love charcuterie boards because everyone loves meat, cheese and cracker varieties.
You can put them in individual cups, too! We did this with mini donuts at my daughter’s wedding in paper cones and it was the cutest way to share her desired treats.
Desserts are always popular so consider small cookies. We love these flower cookies with real flowers baked in them. They’re pretty AND tasty!
If you prefer to make desserts, we have SO many amazing options below.

Pretty Serve Ware
Attractive dishes are a bonus as it contributes to decor plus displays the food in an attractive way.
Consider pretty mason jars for drinks, a wood vase to warm up the space with fresh flowers, plastic cups that look like glass and a “cheat code” charcuterie board that has grooves for easy placements for food.
