Guest Bathroom Makeover
Small Changes, Big Impact: My Easy Guest Bathroom Makeover
I finally wrapped up my guest bathroom makeover after 2 years of dragging my feet. The best part? I pulled it together with small, easy updates that made a huge difference with no demo required!

Read on to transform your guest bathroom with easy updates: pasted wallpaper, painted trim, chrome wall plates, a cozy bath mat and a plant. Stylish makeover ideas that are budget-friendly and no-demo!

Guest Bathroom Makeover Step 1: The Wallpaper That Started It All
The biggest transformation came from adding wallpaper from Wall Blush. I’ve used their peel and stick wallpaper before on our floral wallpaper fridge and love that it instantly gave the room personality without the mess (or commitment) of traditional wallpaper.

This time around I tried their pasted wallpaper and loved it! It’s a quick weekend project and the payoff is huge. I went with Small Town Cottage and love the subtle green stripes to go with the green star tiles.

Guest Bathroom Makeover Step 2: Painting the Trim & Door
To compliment the wallpaper, I painted the trim in the prettiest green shade (Vintage Moss) and took it a step further by painting the door to match. It ties the whole look together and adds a designer feel, even though it’s just a couple coats of paint. Add a custom crystal doorknob for the perfect cherry on top.

Don’t forget a magnetic door stop! It’ll prevent your door from shutting on your knob so it won’t get damaged plus it’ll hold your door open for convenience. I like this one because you can peel and stick it into place or screw it in, love having options!

Guest Bathroom Makeover Step 3: A Clever Twist on the Hook + Flower Pot Hack
You’ve probably seen the trendy hook-and-flower-pot combo floating. I put my own spin on it! Instead of a plant, I used the pot to hold a liquid soap pump and hung a pretty tea towel from the hook. Functional and decorative—my favorite kind of DIY.

Guest Bathroom Makeover Step 4: Making Empty Wall Space Pretty
Since this is our guest bathroom, storage wasn’t a priority. Instead, I added a woven wall basket above the toilet and filled it with faux flowers.

It’s a simple way to fill that awkward empty wall space while adding texture and warmth.

Because I don’t have a wall or vanity next to the toilet and limited space in this room, I didn’t have a traditional spot to put a toilet paper holder. Instead, I opted for a minimal over the tank toilet paper holder, the perfect solution for a small bathroom.

I love thrifting and found this cute basket when I was out and about. This willow wicker basket is similar if you can’t find one during your own thrifting adventure!
Guest Bathroom Makeover Step 5: Cozy & Functional Details
You might recognize my waffle bath mat, it’s gone viral for good reason! It has a non-slip backing (a must in the bathroom) and a cozy texture that feels amazing underfoot.

I also have at least one plant in every room of my home and the bathroom is no exception.
Plant Hanging Tip
To securely hang a plant from the ceiling, use a sturdy plant hanger paired with toggle wings for extra strength. The toggle wings expand behind the drywall, distributing weight and preventing the hook from pulling out. Safe showering ahead 🙂

Adore this simple coat hook for hanging a towel or 2!

Hanging a plant in the shower adds instant coziness, has health benefits and thrives with minimal effort thanks to the steam.
Guest Bathroom Makeover Step 6: Finishing Touches That Upgrade the Look
One of my last upgrades was swapping out the standard plastic outlet and wall plate covers for chrome decorative plates. It’s such an easy, inexpensive change that instantly makes the space look more polished.

I love this brand because of the large options of colors and styles. I have a different style in brass in my kitchen, they’re stunning!
