diy sled wreath

Truth: I’ve never been sledding on a real sled. Here in Arizona our water inner tubes double as snow tubes so that’s all we’ve ever went down the hill on! When I spied these classic sleds from the popular Dollar Spot I knew they would be cute on my recent porch makeover (#ljkelhouserefresh) aaaaand I also knew that mini black inner tubes would look anything BUT cute! Haha. Thank you, Target!

DIY Sled Wreath
We shared this tutorial earlier this month on our darling friend, Jen of Tatertots & Jello‘s, happy blog. If you missed it, here’s the backstory to how this project came about. During Thanksgiving dinner, my cousin tipped me off to Trader Joe’s $9.99 fresh boxwood wreaths; I jetted over as soon as I could and grabbed these beauties. Okay that story wasn’t riveting or anything but you guys, they’re such a steal as you can dry them out and reuse them each year! Score.

Okay, so to build this DIY Sled Wreath, you’ll need the following:

  • 2 boxwood wreaths
  • two sleds
  • bakers twine
  • scissors
  • ribbon to hang

1) I cut 8″ of twine then tied on the sleds with a simple double knot.

2) I used 2 spools of ribbon for the length of these wreaths, one on each wreath.

3) That was seriously it! Whew! I love the long tails and the traditional black, white, red and green Christmas colors.
