DIY Book Page Garland Tutorial
Hello friends! So happy to be stopping by again from Making it in the Mountains, where I blog about our journey to renovate our first fixer upper to create the {farmhouse} of our dreams! Today, I can’t wait to share my latest crafty Fall project! This pretty DIY Book Page Garland Tutorial was so inexpensive and easy to create and I love that it’ll look so cute all year round!
There really wasn’t much to this one friends – just an old book and a length of twine threaded onto a needle. I started by ripping a few pages out of my old book, in about 8-10 page chunks. Then, after cutting a circle template about 3 inches in diameter from a piece of boxboard, I simply held it over a group of pages and traced around it with my scissors as I cut. Once I had a big old stack of circles cut out, I started crumpling up each little group of 8-10 to add a bit of dimension to each one, pulling them all apart once again. Finally, with my twine threaded through a large upholstery needle, I started feeding each little circle onto my string.
With approximately 400(ish) little circles, this two foot garland took me nearly and hour to make from start to finish, but with such a neutral look to it, I know it will all be worth it as I’ll be able to enjoy it all year round!
This was SUCH a simple project to make and I sure do love the way it turned out!
Do you follow my blog? We’ve slowly been working our way through this old house from the 70’s one room at a time and last month, I’m so happy to say, we finally got my farmhouse style office space all finished up…
I’d love for you to pop by to check it out! I really couldn’t be happier with how beautifully it all came together and I have to say, it’s been so amazing to have a creative space all my own!
With the office all finished up, I finally find myself with a bit of time to get the house all decked out for Fall, but because much of our main floor is under construction (you can read more about that here), I really don’t have a ton of spaces I can decorate.mInstead of focusing my efforts inside, I headed outside instead, creating this cozy farmhouse style front porch space…
You might even recognize that vintage door chalkboard I shared here last month – I think it’s such a sweet way to welcome our guests! And, because I’ve been spending an awful lot of time here lately, I couldn’t help bringing a bit of Fall into my new office space as well with just a few simple touches to cozy things up a bit. I’ve always loved this sweet little Fall wreath…
And my new DIY cotton stems were SO simple to make.
