Easy DIY chalkboard calendar!

It’s the tenth of the month, that means it’s time for our monthly hop featuring 10 of our favorite creative blog buddies’ projects.  The theme this month is something we’ve been fans of for a loooong time: CHALKBOARDS!!  We pulled inspiration from two of our amazingly talented bloggers girlfriends to create this chalkboard calendar.  I love the size of it, it’s 2′ tall so the date shows up nice and big plus there is a lot of room at the bottom to fill in the month.  It’d be fun to write in daily special occasions too since it’s a chalkboard and you can erase the event the next day.

Before we get to the chalkboard calendar tutorial, we’d love to have you check out all our buddies’ projects and pin this cute collage below for easy reference.  You won’t regret it, all these chalkboard projects rock!

We mentioned earlier we took bits and pieces from two awesome girls.  We originally spied this clipboard chalkboard on Jilly’s IG account.  Love the simplicity of it.  Then I got to see it in person and loved it even more; her house is just darling.  After I mentally noted the clipboard, I saw the most brilliant trick: mouse traps for clips.  Smart, right?  That tip belongs to cute Kristen from Ella Claire.  Her house is stinkin’ adorable that I want to live in it!  So we combined two great ideas to make one big idea: this chalkboard calendar.  And we even have FREE NUMBERS for you!

Download the numbers here:

Kristi experimented with a chalkboard paint pen to make a wreath underneath the letters, (how cute would that be for Christmas??) but we thought the industrial look with the cutesy look didn’t quite go so we rubbed it off and just chalked the month:

It’ll be fun to fill it in with special occasions like the kids’ birthdays, our anniversary, etc.  I know my kids will be excited to change it out frequently!  Visit all our chalkboard ideas including our popular HOW TO CHALKBOARD ANY SURFACE IN ANY COLOR.  The most affordable trick in the book (;
