Teen Girl Bedroom Decor
I gave my daughter’s boho room a mini makeover. During our remodel, her butterfly wallpaper “melted” off her walls because we didn’t have the AC on for a year. It was super sad that we didn’t get more use out of it and weren’t able to save it.
Her room was the storage room during the remodel and since then, it’s been so hectic with getting everything back in place then with our grandson being born aned our oldest son leaving on his church mission, that this room was heavily ignored. It was overdue!
It was fun to get her room organized. We sat and chatted as we went through her clothes, shoes and random accessories: tossing trash, saving memory items and donating things that were too small or outdated.
We added a few new things to her room which made a big difference.
SHOP ACCESSORIES:
Green White Wave Check Rug
I loved this checkered rug the second I saw it. I admit I thought it was a square pattern so when it showed up in person, I was put off by it.
As soon as I laid it out, I loved it again. It perfectly tied her green dresser and new wallpaper. Plus it’s washable and the perfect size to fit in the washer but fill her room. The last rug was too big and moved around a lot.
Green White Tile Wallpaper
This block print tile wallpaper wasn’t my first choice but it was my daughter’s so I went with it. I added the rest of the accessories to make it work and surprisingly, I actually liked it after I saw it all the way done. She’s a minimalist with decor so the busy pattern on top only is perfect for her style. The bottom of her wall is still a solid chalkboard wall paint that she doesn’t want to cover up just yet.
Full Size Pull Out Day Bed
This is another item that I trusted my daughter on. I preferred something a little more feminine but she loved all the storage this teddy fleece upholstered day bed provides. Plus her best friend sleeps over a lot so the full size trundle underneath gets used a ton! And it has a bluetooth stereo which is pretty unique!
Check out this cute purple headphones! Super affordable in her favorite color, too!
Jewelry Storage
Ring Storage
This is great earring and ring storage in one. I love the removable top bar for earrings or rings. It’s aesthetic with the gold and white but practical, holds a ton and is affordable!
Necklace Storage
These little racks are perfect for necklace and bracelet storage. The come as a set of 2, super affordable!
I also got this headband holder but returned it because we didn’t have a lot of space on the dresser left. But it’s super cute and matches our other wall storage choices.
ps: If you’re looking for a trendy teen girl gift idea: these Get Back necklaces are for you! Every teen girl I know is proudly sporting them right now. Not a bad trend to follow 😉
Flower Lamp
Since we’re leaning into the green theme, I thought this cute little green flower lamp would be perfect as a reading lamp above her bed. I added a rechargeable lightbulb to avoid hardwiring, it’s such a handy hack to avoid a lamp cord.
Curtain, Rod + Clips
I love a good gold curtain rod. This one is so pretty with the vintage modern ribbed end caps. It’s also adjustable and screws together. I love this feature that companies are offering. The curtain rod in my husband’s office is the same and it’s so easy to customize to your space!
These boho curtains are perfect for a room that doesn’t need blackout curtains. They’re lightweight but offer texture to the room with the pretty embroidery and subtle sage green color. I got the 84″ curtains, they come in 6 color choices.
My favorite curtain clips! These are my go-to. I have them in my husband’s office, my family room and in my playroom. I got them in gold 1.25″.
Still on my to-do list is get pull down blinds and frame out the window but wow, curtains dressed up the room SO much!
SHOP THIS ROOM
The rest of the accessories and bedding we left in place. Our thrifted platform bed didn’t last long (mostly because my football player teen boys who are both over 6’1″ love to come jump on her bed at night and tease her then end up laying around and chatting) so this new bed is actually great because it’s STURDY!
