Lisa Valentine Clark and Gina James came up with some adorable “Thumbs Up Tickets” to help keep your kiddos motivated to serve!

Matthew 5:16: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in Heaven.”

When we say “men,” we mean your mom ? Your mom wants to see your good works!

How to Motivate Your Kids to Serve Others

In order to encourage our children to serve–acknowledge their service.

This shows them they can follow the example of Jesus Christ everyday—and in their own homes. The more we can get our children helping others, the more we can combat the “gimmies”.

Our homes are the best place to consistently give service. After all, giving service is only showing love through our actions.

Thumbs Up Tickets

In our home, we use “Thumbs Up Tickets” that quickly, simply and humorously acknowledge the great things that happen in our homes.

Empty the dishwasher? Here is a cute ticket that thanks you for your service.

Walk the dog? Guess what? You also get a receipt AND a Hi-Chew (keep ‘em guessing!).

Offer Incentives

Some enterprising mothers/fathers/teachers/ticket-passer-outers may want to provide an incentive of gathering so many cards to get a special event–family movie night anyone? Bedtime ½ hour later?

Want to empower your children to see the good around them?

Give them a little stack to give to their brothers/sisters when they catch them giving service.
