Have you been lighting the world?! We’re on Day 2 and it’s been so fun to watch our kids going out of their way to be extra helpful around the house! My oldest surprised me and cleaned the kitchen without being asked…whaaaa? Maybe I’ll tell her #LightTheWorld is a 2 month iniative instead of 25 days, HA! (; We’ve got Lisa Valentine Clark and Gina James here with some adorable “Thumbs Up Tickets” to help keep your kiddos motivated to serve! Too cute!
Here are the hilarious duo, Lisa and Gina, to explain how they came up with this clever system:
Matthew 5:16: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in Heaven.” We can #LIGHTtheWORLD by showing our good works before men. When we say “men,” we mean your mom. Your mom wants to see your good works!
In order to encourage our children to serve–acknowledge their service. This shows them they can follow the example of Jesus Christ everyday—and in their own homes. At this time of year, the more we can get our children helping others, the more we can combat the “gimmies” that often accompany the secular part of the Christmas season. Our homes are the best place to consistently give service. After all, giving service is only showing love through our actions.
We provide printable “Thumbs Up Tickets” that quickly, simply, and humorously acknowledge the great things that happen in our homes. Empty the dishwasher? Here is a cute ticket that thanks you for your service. Walk the dog? Guess what? You also get a receipt AND a Hi-Chew (keep ‘em guessing!) Some enterprising mothers/fathers/teachers/ticket-passer-outers may want to provide an incentive of gathering so many cards to get a special event–family movie night anyone? Bedtime ½ hour later? Want to empower your children to see the good around them? Give them a little stack to give to their brothers/sisters when they catch them giving service.
Here is just one cute sample of these cute Kids Reward Tickets! Just click the button below to download. Enjoy!
We hope these small acknowledgements will help children to see all the service opportunities around them. Hopefully, this will spread the LIGHT of Christ to those outside our homes.
We’ve loved having Lisa and Gina here with such a positive message! Please pin so your friends can get a little help with their kiddos as well!
