DIY Superhero Globe

Jump to Tutorial Print Tutorial

Hello! Megan Ballarini again from Sweet Lilly Doodles! I’m back to  show you how to DIY an adorable superhero globe for the dudes, both big and small, in your life! My husband and son are big superhero fans, and they both LOVE this project!

DIY SuperHero Globe... perfect for a boys room, man cave or office! So, I’ll admit I have a thing for globes. I have quite the vintage globe collection! But I also have a hard time not picking up new globes when I see them at home stores. So I’m showing you two options for this project, one with a vintage globe, and one with a new store bought globe.

Supplies:

  • Globe- new or old
  • Comic book(s)
  • Black permanent marker
  • Mod Podge (I used Matte)
  • Scissors

I had my husband pick me up some cheap old comic books from a local comic book store. He paid about $1 for each of them. I flipped through them looking for full body shots of the superheroes, I wanted both feet and hands etc.

Directions:

DIY-Superhero-Globe-Tutorial.jpg1. I carefully cut around each hero with scissors. Cut out as many as you think look good on your size globe. I used 3 small images for my mini globe, and 5 large images for my large globe.

I tried to mimic the writing/font in the comic books. You can use a piece of chalk to write on the globe first if you’re nervous. Then just copy over the chalk with the marker.

3. When marker has set, decide where you’ll place your heroes. A thin even layer of glue is all you need on the back, then smooth onto globe. I like to use my fingers for this part to make sure they are nice and smooth. I try to not get too much extra glue on the globe itself, you will be able to see it on the globe a little when it dries.

4. If you’re worried about dirty/sticky little fingers playing with the globe, you can seal your heroes with a thin layer of glue over top. A cheap foam brush is good for this.DIY SuperHero Globe... perfect for a boys room, man cave or office! And that’s it! Cute, right? Perfect for a nursery or playroom, or even an office or man cave!
