Summer Berry Smoothie recipe

Drink· Food· Summer

5 Jul

Smoothies are a favorite around my house.  Well, as long as they aren’t too green if you know what I mean!  All of my little boys love to help and it makes for a fun (and sometimes messy) morning!  Not everyone agrees on what should go in them all the time, so there are days where we make a mixture of two! This summer berry smoothie recipe is a family favorite! It’s full of all the good stuff for your body and taste buds, yum!

I used to just put one on top of the other, but I love putting a small layer of yogurt in the middle.  My boys thought I was just the coolest the first time I did it.  And moms need to collect “cool points” whenever they can get them! This truly can work with any mixture of smoothies you and your family like.  That’s the magic of smoothies, right?

Sorry to be a grammar Nazi, but the plural of mom is moms, not mom’s.

Sorry, I hit “Post” before I meant to; didn’t intend to leave a snarky comment and run off! I wanted add that I think it’s a GREAT recipe as is, and it could be adapted to individual tastes, as mentioned. Kids love smoothies, and this one should be a big hit with them (not to mention their moms.) I love the rest of your blog!

What can you substitute for the mango nectar? No one in this house likes mangos.

Hi Tatum! Bananas are a great alternative to mangos because, like mangos, they provide a creamy texture in a smoothie. Another option is pear or even apple. Use two small apples or pears for one large mango in a recipe. This will give you near equivalent calories and similar texture without necessarily compromising the flavor.

      Hope that helps! Enjoy (:
