Big Game Day White Cheese Dip
Anyone else watching the NFL playoffs today? We are so stinkin’ excited for Big Game day! Although we don’t religiously watch the big game all the way through, we LOVE the commercials… and game day FOOD! Mostly the appetizers, oh the appetizers! Today we are excited to share a recipe we’ve been working on and perfecting called, a yummy White Cheese Dip. We lived in Minnesota for 6 months after high school, our brother in law married a MN girl so we tested the state out. Turns out these AZ babies hated the cold so we moved back to the valley of the sun. BUT we never forgot the white cheese dip we had at an amazing Mexican restaurant there called Acapulco’s. It is perfect with fresh tortilla chips, we had to stop our testers (our kids) from eating the whole bowl so we could take pics, LOL!! We know you’ll enjoy this white cheese dip appetizer if you love Mexican food as much as we do!
And you know a dip of some sort is mandatory if you’re watching the Big Game at this house so today we’re sharing our brother’s favorite white cheese dip:
RECIPE:
- 1 lb white cheese block (We used Velveeta Queso Blanco)
- 4 oz. diced green chilis
- 1 tbl. spoon jalepeno juice
- 1 HOT jalepeno
- 2/3 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/3 cup water
DIRECTIONS:
- Combine ingredients in microwave safe bowl.
- Cook on high for 5 minutes total, stirring after each minute.
- Note: It is a little runnier than typical dip, that’s exactly how it’s supposed to be. Delicious!

I am a MN native and have transplanted to California. I have been missing this and have tried to re create it myself, but this looks promising! I knew someone that worked there and she said it is white American cheese they use on everything, so that is the base for me. Looking forward to adding the cream!

I love cheese dip! I recently got into the white cheese dip that they serve in Mexican restaurants. Don’t know how it has taken so long for me to discover how amazing the dip is!
