For my baby shower last fall one of my friends wrote down in her card her best mom tip: Use OxiClean™ to remove blowout stains. I already used it exclusively for my lineman husbands work clothes that come home an absolute mess and I have to magically resurrect for the next work week so I decided to try it. (I admit that he brought it home one day per a co-worker’s recommendation so I had always assumed OxiClean™ was for those tough grimy messes like oil or grease and didn’t realize I could use it on our baby’s dainty clothing.) Lemme tell you guys what: it totally works! Every single stain I tried it on came out, even the dreaded newborn seedy mustard yellow poo leftover on her bright white onesies! I am totally kicking myself for not using it with my older 2 kids but I am certainly glad to have it for their future stains… well, current stains. Haha!
Since I had such good luck with the OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover product on clothes I decided to try it on one of our most used household items that happens to be my favorite spot to nurse our baby: the couch.
A few days ago my husband moved a pillow and asked what “that spot” was underneath. I immediately recognized it as our 4-month olds dried spit up and was bummed I didn’t see it when it was fresh but knew I could get it out just as easily as if it was.
To remove this set in stain I just watered down the OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover with a bit of tap water, (fill measuring cup to the first line with OxiClean™ and mix with 16 oz of water,) and lightly brushed over out with an old toothbrush then dabbed with a clean cloth until it was mostly dry. Viola!
Not only did it air dry evenly but it smells SO good, like I put an air freshener on it! I think our smirky daughter agrees it’s our new cleaning weapon of choice to fight her spit up stains and future blow out’s. ;)
Speaking of stains, our mom recently gave me a handful of my own baby clothes Kelli and I wore as infants that she had stored for 30 years and one of the pieces, a dress slip, had a bit of yellowing to it along the stitching and in the lace.
In past experiments with using bleach, my whites ended up with a yellow tint so I decided to try OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover instead and see what would happen to the aged stains. Guess what?
After soaking it according to the package directions (I instead used 1 tbs. + 3 c. hot water for 6 hours since it was a single tiny piece of baby clothing) my little slip was as bright white as when I was a babe and it is so sweet to now see it on my own daughter. Awww!

So what is OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover that is making this mom flock to get it and store it in every form in my cleaning supply cabinet? (I now own the multi-use spray, bathroom spray foam + laundry packs to toss in each load of laundry as well!) OxiClean™ is a Versatile Stain Remover in a powder form that is activated when added to water (warm or hot water works best). Oxygen is released as bubbles that target the stains, rather than fabric, removing many tough stains on water-washable clothing, carpet, and hard surfaces both inside and outside the home. There are over 101 ways to use OxiClean™ to get tough stains out, delivering value through versatility and incredible benefits vs. detergent alone. Not only does it work awesome for baby + kid messes but also organic stains like wine, juice, coffee, food, pet messes, and more… like Diet Coke/soda stains, trust me on that one!
