We snagged a roll of Duck brand decorative adhesive laminate and a $7 frame from SAVERS Thrift Store. We had the most perfect hue of acrylic in yellow, Chick by DecoArt, and paired these together for a bright dry-erase board in our craft room among the embroidery hoop art. You can find our embroidery hoop chalkboard tutorial at Creative Home. (Follow along with the pictures instead of a written step-by-step.)

Love how it brightens up the already bright space even more! This cute pattern would be adorable in a kids room, especially!

So cute! I bought that exact same frame at Savers a couple years ago. I painted mine aqua and turned it into a chalkboard. I love the dry-erase board idea though…and the polka dots are so fun. Plus your craft room is ah-maz-ing!

Do you have a sheet of glass or plexi-glass between the polka dot laminate and the frame? The photograph looks like there’s an additional layer, a slight shadowing behind the “oh Happy day”. I love this idea and what to do it at home. Thanks!

Hi Susan! Yes, sorry if that wasn’t clear. We took the frame apart and placed cute paper BEHIND the glass. That way you can put the frame back together and draw right on the glass with dry erase marker :) THANKS for the question!
