easy fall front porch decor

I got into a discussion with my older sister who used to live in this house, (our childhood home we recently purchased,) that your doors should stay a neutral “safe” color so you can go crazy with colorful accents. I asked her why not have both? I put my space together like my coral doors were still yellow, (still not neutral but they coordinated with autumn time well!,) and whaddya know? I like it! You can also scroll down to see 13 other fall porches from other home decor bloggers whose doors may not be as bright as mine. 😉

Instead of going overboard or crazy with too much decor, I kept it simple and added pumpkins. A lot of pumpkins!

To start, I made these DIY Pumpkin Embroidery Hoop Wreaths that subtly inform guests that it’s fall time.

I have a pretty vast collection of faux pumpkins… white, orange, wooden, plastic, small, large, teeny, bright, neutral, etc.  I decided to pair them all together and see what it looked like! Here’s one look on my outdoor table:And here’s the other:

I love to make coordinating piles and tend to decorate in the 3’s so you can see the above picture is really 4 coordinates pairing instead of a mis-mash of pumpkins! (Which would have been okay with me, too!)I think my handmade sign pulls  the oranges/creams/yellows together and I love how it POPS against the pink! I’ll eventually add some mums into the mix when they come in season but for now, I think I won the argument that you CAN have bright doors and still make holiday decor work! 😉

  6. Absolutely stunning!! And though you said “coral,” they appear to be the exact colour of my new kitchen walls. I handed my Painter Lady a Sweet-n-Low packet and she got it exactly right.
