We are excited to have you meet Kelli’s daughter, Ry, today! She is our number one hair girl in the house! She not only comes up with the most gorgeous braids on her own head, totally self-taught, but she is the only reason her little sister looks presentable for 2nd grade every morning! Our resident braid expert, at age 13, wanted to share her favorite hairstyle with you, the dutch crown braid with Nume wand waves. Read on for a killer deal too!
This dutch crown braid works well on short hair and with Nume’s curling wand, (we used the 25mm Classic Wand) it’d be gorgeous on long hair too! This cute, tousled style is perfect for keeping short layers out of your face. To create the dutch braid crown, start by dutch braiding the top layer of hair, staring with the bangs on the right side. Secure with elastic band. Repeat on the left side. Connect braids together with the first elastic band.
Fluff (pull out the braid so it gets “bigger”) braid.
With the Nume wand, wrap 2″ of hair around wand loosely, hold for 8 seconds, release. Tousel with your fingers to loosen waves. Add a small amount of argan oil, (we love Nume’s as a shine serum to calm frizz (it also soften cuticles and nourishes skin!) to the ends to create cool-girl pieciness.
