Southwestern Club Sandwich with avocado spread via @myrecipeconfessions

We're happy to welcome our sweet monthly contributor Carrie from My Recipe Confessions! With my kids out of school, our summer vacation is in full swing and our schedules are filling up fast! Between dance, baseball, swim lessons, and camping trips, there isn't a whole lot of time for dinner preparation. Not to mention the fact that it is already hot outside, so who wants to heat their house up even more by turning on the oven? I certainly don't and that is another reason why I love to make my Southwestern Club Sandwich. I also love the fact that it is fast to prepare and it just tastes absolutely amazing!   These sandwiches are great to make ahead of time. You can wrap … continue reading

chalky finish chair makeover

Easy distressed chalky finish chair makeover with inexpensive chalk paint + a little time! via @lollyjaneblog

We are knee deep in a teen bedroom overhaul.  I'm talking bubblegum pink 15' tall walls into serene gray with mint accents.  So cute.  Can't wait to reveal the full bedroom soon.  We put in forty hours combined last week painting.  In Arizona's 110 degree weather.  But it'll be so worth the end product, even though we're not being compensated.  Do you think we're just that nice to do it for fun?  Well we are nice but we're doing it as a church auction winning last month.  Check it out on Instagram, it was a fun auction.  And now a handful of girls will be able to attend Girls Camp.  Win-win.  This chalky finish chair makeover is just one of the 6 pieces to get a makeover. And there is our … continue reading

How to make GLITTER slime! Easy kids craft, hours of fun!!

We love crafting with our kiddos.  It's a fun way to help pass the long summer days and when you're done, they still have something to do... win-win!  We were asked by the cute Rachel from R&R Workshop to participate in her month long Disney series.  Who doesn't love Disney??  We are taking our kiddos to see Maleficent for family night tonight and are so excited!  They're old enough that they won't be too scared and are stoked to see a twist on the classic, Sleeping Beauty.  Of course we had to accompany the movie with a fun themed craft and hope you love our Maleficent glitter slime recipe! Turn printables into home decor

Make any printable into home decor! Easy and awesome tutorial via @lollyjaneblog

We love printables... like, LOVE them! We have a whole gad of them for you (all free!) to choose from, actually ;) We're often asked WHAT you we do with a printable after it's created. The most obvious use is to frame it or hang/clip it for display. Well today we'll be showing you how to turn that printable into something outside of the box! Kelli whipped up this "Do Small Things With Great Love" printable sign then easily turned it into home decor. Pretty neat! Want to know how? It was a snap with Americana's gel stain- this stuff is bomb, we tell ya! We're huge sign makers and love to build our own furniture.  I've stained a lot of different pieces in my own home and wanted to see how … continue reading

Red white & blue pudding pops

Red White and Blue Pudding Pops via @lmldfood. Perfect 4th of July or summer treat!

I hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day yesterday. I spent the day relaxing at home and enjoying time with my sleepy new baby and thinking of all those who have served our country and are currently serving. I am so grateful for all of them. Now that Memorial Day is passed our next holiday is another patriotic holiday. As you know, the Fourth of July is just a few weeks away and it's time to start preparing for your celebration! Of course we want to remember what the holiday is about: the freedom that we are blessed with for living in this country. One way to remember is to have lots of red white and blue! DIY vintage blue mason jar

DIY vintage blue mason jar, easy step by step! via @lollyjaneblog

Just in time for Memorial Day with the 4th of July right around the corner, we've created some easy knock off vintage blue mason jars.  The real version is so pretty, we thought it'd be fun to upcycle the hoard of mason jars we found in our attic and play with these just for fun.  They are inexpensive to make thanks to Americana's gloss enamel glass paint.  The vintage blue mason jars are all the rage right now but man are they pricey!  At $6 jar, plus the cost to fill it, you'll have quite the expensive centerpiece.  Our solution looks just as pretty but is wallet friendly (; Supplies (contains affiliate links with great prices): Americana Turquoise Gloss Enamels Americana White … continue reading
