Do you ever lose your place when reading? It happens to me every.single.time I stop to check on the baby or tend the toddler and when if I get back to my book, I can’t remember exactly what page I’m on… because well, the gum wrapper I use as my trusty bookmark isn’t so trusty
LOL
So my hubby got called into work tonight and both babies were asleep so I flicked on a Lifetime movie and decided to whip up some magnetic bookmarks to help this busy momma savor the little reading time I get:
I snagged some scrapbook paper from my stash, plucked some magnets from my craft bucket, punched the Fancy Envelope Tabs & the Label It Kit dies using my Epic from Lifestyle Crafts and quickly created these little cuties….
….tying them off with polka dot ribbon:
It was a fairly quick process and makes such a difference that instead of sliding my bookmark in place, it fastens shut with the magnet, keeping it in place from little hands

Oh. My. Goodness. I L.O.V.E those!! I’ve never even heard of the idea… Did you come up with that too? Either way, yours are adorable, mine would never turn out that cute. I need to find a place to buy some like yours.
lollyjane
Dezi you are so sweet! They were super easy to make- I tried to search on Pinterest for magnet bookmark but Pinterest kept giving me an error code so I made it up as I went I’m sure there is something similar out there, though, in Blogland! It’s so hard to be original anymore! lol
PS: send me your address and I’ll mail you one!

What a great idea! I use Post-Its torn in half, but after about a week they lost their sticky and then are just as bad as a random piece of paper
I’d be thrilled if you would link this up at my current link party so everyone can see the awesome idea and tutorial! http://practicallyfunctional.net/2012/06/the-fun-in-functional-link-party-4/
