Foreeeeeeeeeeeeeever ago (seriously, back in February of 2010) we shared the cutest little Valentine’s Day blocks. I have no idea where they ended up after we moved so I finally got around to making a new set last year. I love snapping a yearly pic of my kids with them around Valentine’s Day to document how much they’ve grown. This year, I added the blocks onto a frame I built to create this easy i love you wood sign.
I didn’t include a step-by-step of the blocks here but I did link to the original source of our first post. We used 1″ x 8″ pine and cut them to 5″ blocks. We used our vinyl cutter to make the I heart U but you can free hand it with a sharpie or find a stencil at your local craft store.
We’ve shared how to make a wood frame before, pretty easy. We shared a diy step by step video as well for our popular gather sign. For this sign, we used our favorite cordless brad nailer, no more waiting on wood glue to dry!
This is a fun sign to leave up year round, in the master bedroom or in a public gallery wall…but it’s also cute for Valentine’s Day with some pretty felt balls and flags.
Sources: cute plaid flag is from Natalie Creates, the felt wool balls are from The Felt Pod, the white pom garland is from Target dollar spot. PS: the yellow and white striped painted concrete floor tutorial (underneath the sign ) was a breeze to refinish. Check out more of our Valentine’s ideas like our rustic LOVE barnwood sign,
