Before we were parents, my husband and I were big moviegoers and loved to see the latest films, complete with popcorn and treats. Now that we have 3 young kids under 6, we have a family movie night once a week and try to be creative with treats for them. When the “feature film” of the week at our house is The Secret Life of Pets, (3 thumbs up from my bunch!), we shopped for specific animal themed snacks and put them together to make a Kibbles ‘N Bits Snack Movie Mix that they went crazy for!
The Secret Life of Pets DVD (and Blu-Ray) is now available in stores, and comes with almost an hour of bonus footage plus 3 mini-movies and hits stores this week! ! My little boys were so excited to watch it as we didn’t make it to the theater because of their baby sister who now just crawls down the theater aisles and makes nights out nearly impossible! This cute comedy follows the lives our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day and shares their cute antics along the way. Made from the humans behind Despicable Me, you now know what your pets do when you’re gone. 😉 The all-star cast includes some of our favorites like Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart, Jenny Slate, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Dana Carvey, Hannibal Buress, Bobby Moynihan, Steve Coogan and Albert Brooks. Here’s a peek at The Secret Life of Pets:
Want to make your own? Here’s what you’ll need… feel free to take away or add other yummy ingredients, too!
Kibbles ‘N Bits Snack Movie Mix (perfect for pet themed parties, too!)
- Scooby Snack Bones
- Mini Marshmallows
- Yogurt Covered Craisins
- Chocolate Chips or Yogurt Chips
- Kettle Popcorn
Just toss and enjoy!
I thought it would be extra special for YOU to share this movie snack in an easy matching The Secret Life of Pets treat cone that coordinated with the film!
To make it I whipped up this design, printed it, shaped it into a treat cone, then sealed it with washi tape.
(You can tuck wax paper inside before pouring the mix inside so it’s food safe.)
That’s it! Print your own Snack Sheet here, free for personal use only.
I also had to make some edible treats for our tiny tots, our baby twin Boston Terriers.
Love this easy pet-friendly cookie recipe from Muchkins and The Military, instead of dropping them on the pan I added a bit of flour and cut them into dog shaped treats. Cute and my pups parents loved them as our fur babies don’t have teeth yet! 😉
