Backyard oasis {staycation} with World Market

We made another trip to one of our favorite stores, World Market, this weekend!  {Check out Kelli’s Americana Get Together if you’re scouring cute stores like WM for 4th of July decor!} I love love love this store- it’s my go to spot for any occasion gifts… kids, adults, something cute, something sweet- this place has got it all!  Well this time we were in the market {get it, Market? ha ha} for an outdoor oasis… something that would help keep my little entertained during these warm days.  I wanted to create a mini staycation for just me & him while daddy is at work and while baby brother sleeps.

Going to World Market is like an adventure for me- I never know what I will find!  I was immediately greeted by their  Timber Cove outdoor collection… stinking cute, right?!

We turned the corner to see the pretty display of beach towels.  LOVE the pretty prints and how LARGE these are!  I’m sure my 6’4″ hubby would appreciate being completely wrapped up after swimming or the beach!  Oh, did you spy the hook display they are hanging from?  I would love to make one for my future mud room since it isn’t for sale…

My idea for an outside oasis, at this stage in my life, isn’t about a little R&R for me, but about a space to help entertain my toddler. I saw these awesome popcorn poppers with adorable matching accessories and immediately thought about a projector playing a movie while snacking on World Market’s huge selection of tasty treats.  I’m going to keep this idea in mind- maybe on the next trip!

When I spotted this display, all tucked inside a cute insulated picnic basket, I knew this was the direction I wanted to go… so I snagged a few items, age appropriate for my little tyke, and headed home to set up shop!

What screams summer more than a sno cone maker?  How about a cute striped blanket to lay out {that COMES WITH the picnic basket!  Score!} and is backed with vinyl so you won’t have to shake shake shake the grass off?  Easy clean up = win win for mom

Along with the sno cone maker {less than $25} I purchased 2 syrups {great variety of flavors! I snagged fruit punch and blue raspberry- yum!} the turquoise picnic basket, extra sno cone cups & straws and cute polka-dot napkins.  Great value for around $75!

When my little guy walked into the backyard, I surprised him with the basket laid out on the cute coordinating blanket… when he opened it up to see a sno cone, he was so excited and yelled “ice cream!”  LOL  I’m sure by the end of the summer, with lots of sno cone staycations, he will get the right words

After a yummy fruit punch sno cone with a matching red tongue, he helped me clean up and carry the basket in, as happy as can be!
