Easy Microwave Peanut Brittle

EASY and FAST microwave peanut brittle recipe. Quick to make but still has all the yummy flavors like grandma used to make. This is your Christmas peanut recipe for holiday desserts!

We're thrilled to have cute Carrie from My Recipe Confessions sharing an easy microwave peanut brittle recipe. YUM! I love homemade candy! My grandma is a candy making expert. Every year when I was growing up, she made a bunch of homemade candy for all of her family. That is saying a lot considering that she had 13 kids and seventy something grandkids. One of the candies that she made was peanut brittle. For years she made it on the stove top. Toward the end of her candy making years, she started making it in the microwave. I make bothversions. The microwave version isn't any faster, but it is … continue reading

scallop wooden trim tutorial | closet makeover

Pretty scallop trim closet tutorial | Adorable little girls bedroom ideas.

My 5 year old's room has been on t0-do list for years.  And that is when I started it..years ago! Poor girl!  She's had gray blank walls in her room for far too long. So happy that BLACK+DECKER is hosting a "Your Big Finish" challenge - to finally complete a project that has been neglected in your home and get it checked off! My sweet neighbor generously gave me 20' of pink wooden scallop trim because she knew I would "do something creative with it" but alas, it has sat on the floor of my garage for nearly 2 years. When my daughter asked if we could paint her room purple (transitioning from a toddler room to a "big girl" room,) I knew it was time to dust these suckers … continue reading

teal bench makeover

Gorgeous teal bench makeover! See how easy it is to refinish old furniture to make it new again.| lollyjane.com

Earlier this month we shared the perfect teal color, Teal Zeal by Glidden paint.  It's part of their new simplified color palette and we just adore it.  Check out our many color inspiration ideas, so much eye candy for the home!  This bench has been in our marriage as long as our oldest daughter has been.  My in-laws gave me a gift card to Pier 1 back in the day, nearly 13 years ago, and I was so excited to have a real wood piece of furniture in the house.  It was $250 and the gc was for $200.  I was so thrilled with the black beauty and red distressed undertones.  Fast forward, I don't wear black.  Ever.  I don't decorate with cool … continue reading

DIY | glitter succulent planters

DIY glitter succulents | Easy Christmas decor idea, painted pots with glitter tops.

We are loving all the fall decor goin' on but the frugal gals we are, we like to mix n' match fall/Christmas.  We originally shared these adorable glitter succulent planters at Yellow Bliss Road for her fun holiday series.  It's an easy project to whip up since you just need $0.69 pots, a little glitter & paint.  If you're a longtime reader, you know our major obsession with with succulents. And mason jars.  Which is why we decided to switch things up and paint some pots instead of jars.    And we added glitter...because a crafter can never overuse the sparkly stuff, are we right!? Supplies: 3 mini terra cotta pots patio paint (we … continue reading

S’more roll recipe

S'Mores Roll Dessert |rhondasteed.com

Please welcome sweet Rhonda from Just Rhonda back! We can hardly wait to share this yummy recipe with you... and make it this weekend! Today I’m sharing a chocolate roll of goodness... a S’More Roll. It starts out with a sponge cake jelly roll and ends with some sprinkled graham cracker crumbs, chocolate ganache and jars of marshmallow. Yum. First you make a runny sponge cake. As it cooks you get a dishtowel ready with cocoa on it (it keeps it from sticking to the towel.) Then when the cake comes out you flip it onto the dishtowel.    Peel off the parchment.  And roll it up!  Wrap it with saran wrap and stick it in the … continue reading

The best color teal ever!

Love this color "Teal Zeal" by Glidden. Gorg!

We love paint. Like, love it to the point where we inevitably end up in the paint department at Walmart or Home Depot on any given trip just looking at swatches with a little bubble emoji above our heads, thinking about what we can paint or REpaint next. True story.  Every time I walk past the foyer in my entryway I think of this cute black bench that was gifted to me as a wedding gift almost 13 years ago. As you can see, it's black and has a nice retail store lacquer finish on it. With 4 kids, it has actually held up well.... but, it's black. I don't think I even own a black piece of clothing, to be honest because black is just not me. So, I decided to take on my next … continue reading
