It’s the first week of January. Time to set goals and resolutions. Lose weight, work out more, yaddayah. I’m not referring to the stereotypical goals, I’m talking about spiritual goals. So here is my 2013 goal: pray harder.
You see, my sister in law’s sweet brother was just diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. And Aimee‘s brother in law found out this week he has a brain tumor. We’ve had two very close friends pass away from sickness over the years, our very best friend at the young age of 24. And our 2nd mom at her prime grandma age in her early 60’s. So we obviously can’t prevent cancer. Or sickness. Or heartache. But we can do something…PRAY for those who are suffering.
I was deeply inspired by this 17 year old young man, Zach Sobiech. He was diagnosed with incurable cancer in 2009. With months to live, he wrote and performed this song called Clouds. He sings about how he was in a dark hole but needed to grab hold of the end of the rope. He sings how he’ll go up where the view is higher and everything will be just fine. *tears*
So my goal is to pray harder. Pray for peace for those who are suffering. Pray that comfort may come to those who need it most. Pray that I can be an instrument in Heavenly Father’s hands and can bring comfort to those through Him.
